there was a crooked house

on the way to my friends cottage there is this very

 cool abandon house

it's at the half way mark so its a good time to stop,

stretch and take a few photos

every time we notice its getting a little "wobblier" 

and as the years pass, we wonder

"is it going to be there ?"

 

this year i almost missed it, i was distracted

by all the highway construction

and only because we had to stop for lane restrictions

that i looked over and noticed

that there it was or wasn't?

i couldn't pull over to take a photo so i made sure

 on the way back i would

luckily the construction had moved further up the road

 and I made sure i found it

i was a little sad knowing that these might be the last photos

fall scenes

its been awhile since I had a chance to just get in the car and wonder

 taking all the back roads and finding the best photo opportunities

a few weeks ago I planned a weekend trip to

prince edward county

I have only every been once and that was a long time ago

it has grown significantly in the past decade

featuring over 20 wineries

b&b's, antiques, arts and crafts

and wonderful sceneries

perfect timing, coming back from a tasting

just as the sun was setting

I would love to find out who hung this door!!

lots of barns

we only managed to visit 2 wineries

only because we had such a wonderful time

wondering the properties and taking photos

and of course enjoying a glass of wine

sunset glory

just when you think it can't get any better!!!

stop and look again

it always amazes me just how quickly the sky can change in just a few minutes

i just wish it could last a little longer

it always makes my day

is it just me or does this look like a scene from "gone with the wind" ??

i can take photos all day long and find a few that i'm happy with

last sunday the conditions where wonderful

a stormy sky, fall colors. and soft lighting

as i drove back home along hwy 7 i came around a soft bend in the road

and there it was the "perfect setting|"

for a second i thought "damn i should stop......no time, i've been out all day

next time......no , when will there be a next time, and will it be this good??

i quickly did a U turn and got this shot

and glad i took the extra time to enjoy the scenery

a wonderful weekend with my friend lu

spending time creating and eating

driving the back roads taking pictures

and watching skippy and sidney

wear each other out!!!

 p.s. yes that is the first sign of fall,

 i found several trees with changing leaves and

 a few new projects-

 a free form crochet project and some felting experiments

after our visit at the five and dime

we wondered along hwy 20a stopping at several antique shops

lunch and some quaint little towns we arrive at our b & b in perry, ny

after a long day it was so wonderful to be greeted by owners

joe and maureen

it was so nice to sit on the front porch and enjoy out takeout dinner

and a bottle of wine

the next morning maureen made these wonderful fruit filled crepes

and joe offered his fantastic chocolate chip cookies

which we took to go

O it is pleasant, with a heart at ease, just after sunset, or by moonlight skies,

to make the shifting clouds be what you please.

day tripping

this is so close to home and yet the best kept secret

i've always heard about the badlands but i usually head east for a country drive

since my friend carmi moved further west i've been travelling that way more often

the cheltenham badlands is part of the bruce trail

and is just north of  bramptom, south of orangeville off of hwy 10

someone asked if i had any photos of barns

which sent me on a quest to rifle through thousands of photos

to find some of my favorites

on one of my country road trips i found this abandoned house

since no one was around and i was feeling brave

i decided to take a closer look

the kitchen had the best grunge and texture

from the floor to the ceiling

the upstairs bedrooms had the best wallpaper

i wish i had gotten a sample
