encaustic class

sometimes
less is more
after working with some really dark colours
it was a challenge to go
subtle

i added a map to the entire canvas
clear wax and cheesecloth
i applied the oil paint on top
and used lots of mineral spirits
to remove most of it
which really shows off the texture
added a few dried leaves
and
you can get a better look of the map

one of my photos
inverted and then added a mirror image
and last
a photo transfer of some old text
------------
i'm really happy with the results
and would like to do a "series"
in this style

Extraordinary, this is one of those pieces I'd love to see in person to fully appreciate all its elements.
