encaustic class

"flight home"
encaustic 16 x 20
this weeks project i decided to combine
a little bit of everything i've learned so far
lots and lots of texture
copper leaf and a few photo transfers
left side cheese cloth, wax and oil paint
right side loose black tea, wax and more tea on top

rice, sesame seeds, wax and oil paint

I love the way this takes your eyes around the artwork. The bird and intense blue amd all the rest. Very visually appealing! And yes the textures would make me want to touch it.

Edible art work! Interesting concept. Do any of the food dyes bleed into to the wax? I must explore this encaustic venue. I think I'll try a smallish card class first. Very inspiring, as always.
