what a difference a year makes

a lot has changed in the past year
everyday I am getting stronger
cancer free, working part time,
creating lots of art and back at the gym
even taking zumba classes
( mind you I'm the drunk looking girl at the back
with a big smile on my face and
just so grateful to able to participate )
a special thank-you to all my friends,
family and healthcare providers
for all your love and support
I couldn't have done it without you

i'm back for a quick note

its been almost a few weeks since my party
and what a party it was!
the girls and by girls i mean soul sistas!
lisa , carmi , jackie , dede , gillian , lulu , heather , karen , julie, carol and cat
planned and created the best party !!
i wish we had a door man just to count heads because i lost count after a few 100
people came from peterpatch, newcastle, hamilton, caledon, church hill, claremont and port perry
people from years past, neighbours, clients, all wonderful friends

OMG!! i am still so overwhelmed, i can't get me head around it
everyone has been so kind and generous to me, words can not express the way i feel
i just want you to know how grateful i am for having all of you in my life
everyone has made it so much easier for me going through this horrible experience
thank-you, thank-you, thank-you

two hats for sadie

this is sadie , my goddaughter
she is 18 months old and a joy in my life!
while wondering through pinterest i found a pattern to
crochet this wonderful hat
since sadie is just  starting to get some hair i thought
it would be fun to give her some instant long braids

i think she likes it!!
what a beautiful model

and as always one thing leads to another so i tried this
"cabbage patch" hat
too cute!!!

address to a haggis

His knife see rustic Labour dight,
An’ cut you up wi’ ready sleight,
Trenching your gushing entrails bright,
Like ony ditch;
And then, O what a glorious sight,
Warm-reekin’, rich

baby momma

for the past few months i've had this
little cat hanging around my garden
every morning i would find her under the hostas
right next to the bird bath
then i noticed a few dead birds
so i put the bird feeder away
and gave her some food
she was very tiny and shy
and would eat and run
i called her "baby"
every morning she would be back
then she showed up with a collar on,
then a few weeks later, no collar
she started to warm up to me and
decided to come in the house, then eat and run
one day i noticed she was getting a little "round"
and she was eating 3 small cans of food a day
finally i got to pick her up and sure enough
i could tell she was pregnant
so i started calling her "baby momma"
WELL....................

yesterday she gave birth to 3 kittens
momma and babies are doing just fine
and now we know who the father is!!
i hope they get their mothers eyes!!!!!

happy new year!

well, it's hard to believe another year is gone
they say time flies as you get older
remember y2k?
it seems like yesterday we thought
the world was going to end
or at least "crash"
and here it is 9 years later
i don't make resolution, just set a few goals
something like
"make time for more art"
which i did this year
part of that was starting this blog
i'm so glad i did
i've "met" some great people and
would like to say thank you
to everyone for visiting me,
encouraging me with all your wonderful comments
and wish everyone a creative 2009

feeling under the weather since i returned home from my long weekend visit with my sister
i've been playing around with some of my photos taken during my stay on lake erie
i don't know why i like this one, maybe its all the cold meds ,
or the ttv i found while looking through flickr
either way, i like it, something very calming about the whole thing
so i decided to use some of the photos in my new header
